OPERATING PROCEDURES

How does the scientific procedures of the motivational and cognitive control lab look like? Under operating procedures we provide guidelines and examples of preregistrations, data management plans, data quality control procedures, a data visualization workshop and suggested readings, on how to improve scientific rigor, transparency and data quality.

Preregistration

We are advocates of a scientific practice that builds on transparency and openness. We aim to preregister our studies and analysis plans to increase the credibility of our scientific findings, and to contribute and encourage a rigorous scientific practice. For examples of current preregistrations, click here.

Data management

Here you can find an overview of our data quality control procedures, and examples of how we manage our data during but also after a project is completed.

Data quality control

To properly ensure quality of acquired data we implement data quality control procedures and guidelines on how to ensure the quality of a data set.

Data visualization

A crucial part of science is to communicate scientific findings, here you can find a link to Donders data visualizationworkshop and suggested readings to improve visualization of both imaging and behavioral data.
